The House of Lords is the second chamber of the UK Parliament. It is independent from, and complements the work of, the elected House of Commons. The Lords shares the task of making and shaping laws and checking and challenging the work of the government. Learn more about the House of Lords in this YouTube explainer video.

Many people don't know much about what goes on in The Lords, so I have created a set of reports that make it easier for people to understand more about what the members of The House of Lords actually do.

I started this work because I wanted to examine the work done by members who have strong links to Bristol:

Lord Rees of Easton - Marvin Rees (former Mayor of Bristol)
Baroness Debbonaire - Thangam Debbonaire (former PM for Bristol West)
Baroness Janke - Barbara Janke (former Leader of Bristol City Council)

But I thought it would be useful to provide reports for all of the members so that other people could explore the data for members that they are interested in. It also allows you to compare members in different ways.

Most of the data is sourced from official sources. There is an extensive set of Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) that I use to source the majority of the data in the Lords Uncovered Reports.
