Chris McEvoy is the founder and editor of Bristol Uncovered, an independent news, data and investigative journalism publication covering Bristol.

He writes about local government, transport, housing, public spending, planning, public services and other issues affecting people in Bristol. His work often uses open data, Freedom of Information requests, council records and other primary sources to examine how decisions are made and how public money is spent.

Chris has a particular interest in making complex public information easier to understand and in using data to identify stories that may otherwise receive little attention.

Bristol Uncovered was launched in February 2025 and publishes original reporting, analysis and commentary about Bristol and its institutions.

Corrections Policy

Bristol Uncovered aims to publish accurate and reliable information.

If a factual error is identified, it will be corrected as soon as reasonably possible. Where a correction is significant, the article will be updated to make clear what has changed.

Readers are encouraged to report possible errors or inaccuracies by emailing [email protected].

Minor changes, such as spelling, grammar or formatting corrections that do not alter the meaning of an article, may be made without a correction notice.

Editorial Standards

Bristol Uncovered aims to produce independent, evidence-based reporting about Bristol.

Where possible, articles rely on primary sources such as council documents, public records, official datasets, Freedom of Information responses and direct statements from relevant organisations.

Reporting aims to distinguish clearly between fact, analysis and opinion. Sources are identified wherever practical, and links to original documents or data are provided where they help readers verify the information.

Bristol Uncovered seeks to represent information fairly and accurately and, where appropriate, to include responses or relevant alternative viewpoints from people or organisations discussed in an article.

Any potential conflicts of interest that could reasonably affect the interpretation of an article will be disclosed.
