Democrazy (noun) — a satirical term for a form of democracy in which the processes of representation, consultation and decision-making become so contradictory, bureaucratic, theatrical or irrational that they appear absurd.

It describes the gap between the democratic ideal — informed citizens influencing accountable government — and the often chaotic reality of competing promises, political manoeuvring, endless consultation, procedural complexity, contradictory policies and decisions that leave the public wondering who is actually in control.
