Councillors on Patrol
Introduction
FixMyStreet has become the main tool used to report problems to Bristol City Council. Residents are encouraged to report problems and BCC use the reports to plan work and respond to potentially dangerous situations.
Our Councillors also use FixMyStreet to report problems. The vast majority of reports are made anonymously, but people can provide a name as part of their report. I have looked at the reports where the names match Councillors and produced a "Reported by Councillors" Bristol Uncovered report.
Please note that I cannot verify if these FixMyStreet reports were actually made by the Councillors as it is possible for people to submit any name they want to, and some people could submit reports using a Councillors name in the hope of getting a prompter response. You do have to provide an e-mail when submitting a "named" report, and this could dissuade people from impersonating Councillors.
There may also be Councillor reports that are made anonymously which do not appear in my report.
I have analysed FixMyStreet reports made between 01/03/2026 and 24/10/2026 for this article.

The very high number of Flytipping reports are similar to the proportion reported by all reports made.
This is the "League Table" of Councillors who have made FixMyStreet reports since 01/03/2026.

The StreetView image below shows that this appears to be a popular flytipping spot. It's a shame BCC cannot afford any CCTV Cameras.

Flytipping or unofficial storage area?
Donald Alexander

Lisa Durston
This was first reported by residents months ago with no action taken.
Perhaps Lisa's report will have more impact.
Ed Plowden
Looking at the screenshot submitted perhaps someone else raised this with Ed.
