Workplace Parking Levy Prioritised

Today the Council published the Corporate Strategy 2025 to 2030.

It confirms that the Council will prioritise the implementation of a Workplace Parking Levy in Bristol.

A report was published in September 2024 that described how the scheme might operate.

The details of the potential WPL scheme requires further work but essentially workplaces with parking places would face an annual charge per parking place and the employer would decide whether to pass that compulsory charge onto the employee or not.

A central charging zone priced at around £20 per week could generate around £8-10m per year
