Where is the hate in Bristol?

This article isn't about Hate Crime, it is about Non Crime Hate Incidents (NCHI). This table explains the difference.
I submitted a Freedom of Information request to Avon and Somerset Police about NCHI. This article analyses data on NCHI between 2015 and 2024.

Whilst the trend over the last 9 years has risen, the good news is that NHCI reports have gone down in Bristol for the past 2 years. This could mean that Bristol is getting less "hatey", or that people are just reporting fewer NCHIs.

Who are the Non Crime Hate Incidents targeted at?
Avon and Somerset Police did not provide the category details for Bristol, but they did provide the numbers for the whole of the Avon and Somerset Police area.

Top 5 Categories
The key change to call out is that Gender hate incidents, overtook Transphobic hate incidents in 2024. Disability hate incidents are the second highest category of hate incidents after Racial.

The key call out is that Anti Jewish hate incidents have become the highest category of anti religious hate incidents.

When you compare this category of NCHIs with the religious makeup of Bristol you see that the biggest variance is between the Jewish population and Anti Jewish NCHIs.
