Residents Parking Zone Permits

Residents Parking Zone Permits

I have done some analysis on the number of Residents Parking Zone Permits issued in Bristol between 2010 and 2024 (source FOI Request).

Please note that the data is incomplete for some years as BCC did not appear to record all of the data.

The 31,073 permits issued in 2024 were in these zones:

Changes to Visitors Permits

Update: The details of the changes were published on 15/20/2024 and give details of the fee changes.

Currently you get 60 "free" visitors permits each year. Unused permits cannot be carried over to the next year.

BCC are going to change the system and remove the "free" allocation of visitors permits.

If someone used their 60 free tickets in a year, they would have to pay an extra £78 a year.

If we assume 25% of available visitors permits are used then this could result in an extra £600,000 being raised though charging for "free" visitor permits.

  • 31,073 * 60 = 1,864,380
  • 25% of 1,864,380 = 466,095
  • 466,095 * £1.30 = £6,05,923.50
