Have you done the "Bristol Flag Trail" yet?
Jack Gromit Figurine

The Gromit Unleashed Trail finishes in a few days on 31 Aug 2025. But now you can follow the "Bristol Flag Trail" instead.

Bristol City Council have published the locations of "Flags" that have been displayed on Lamp Posts and Roundabouts. They have done this by asking citizens to report these community exhibits on FixMyStreet (usually under the Graffiti or Street Light categories).

UPDATE 27/08: The number of exhibits has increased from 16 to 32 since this article was published on 26/08.

I have added a new "Flag" Theme on my Bristol Uncovered FixMyStreet reports to help you plan your route for the "Bristol Flag Trail".

There are the Wards where the current exhibits can be found:

You can see the "Bristol Flag Trail" locations on BU Reports. Just look for the FixMyStreet Buttons and select the "Flags" Theme. The report is updated 3 or 4 times a week.

Please make sure you walk or cycle wherever possible to limit the impact on the environment.

There are currently 16 exhibits on this Trail, but more are being added every day.

Other Trails are Available

If you enjoyed the "Bristol Flag Trail" then you could try the "Bristol Poo Trail". But this will take you a lot longer as there have already been almost 600 "poo" reports so far in 2025.

There is quite a big set of "Poo" exhibits at Clifton Down if you want a short version of the "Poo Trail".

If you want a local version of these trails then you can select your Ward to just see the locations in your area.

Or you could try one of these other trails:

  • Fly Tipping (8,000 reports so far this year)
  • Pot Holes (900 reports so far this year)
  • Dead Animals (465 reports so far this year)
  • Asbestos (61 reports so far this year)
  • Rude Graffiti (9 reports so far this year)

But make sure you hurry and complete these trails before Bristol City Council "Fix" them all. The ones will a status of "Open" or "Closed" are still likely to be there.

There isn't an app to record your completion of the trails, but you could aways provide an update on FixMyStreet and tell the Council if the exhibit is still there.

The "Jack Gromit" figurine pictured in this article can be found at the "Gromit Unleashed" shop, but it is sold out at the moment due to the overwhelming demand from patriotic Gromit fans.
