Councillor Musical Chairs

Today we heard about the fourth Councillor party change at Bristol City Council in recent months.

First, we had Councillor Breckels who moved from Labour to be an Independent after his suspension.

Then we had Councillor Al Al-Maghrabi who moved from Labour to the Green group.

Then we had Councillor Breckels moving back to the Labour group after he apologised and agreed to be sent on a training course.

Now we have Councillor O'Rourke leaving the Green group to become an Independent.

As you may be aware I publish a number of reports (over 100) using data related to Bristol City Council. It was getting a bit difficult to keep up with the Party changes, so I have now written some code that will monitor Councillor Party membership so that any future changes can be identified, updated and published in a timely manner.

These lines of code will automatically update all the reports that include the "Party" data item. Some of those reports can be seen below.
